Crowne Plaza Full on Thursday

Our Allocation of rooms for Thursday 24th May is now sold out. However we still have over 60 rooms for Friday 25th till Sunday 27th May. There is a conference on earlier in the week so the Crowne Plaza has no further rooms available at a reasonable price and a few Hotels in the city are completely sold out.

A check today was able to find reasonably priced rooms (£58 - £79) at the "Hampton by Hilton", "the Village" and the "Premier Inn Glasgow Pacific Quay".

We will try to get an allocation for Thursday 24th May 2018 at another hotel nearby.

Laika and friends

An interesting little video about Laika, the Satellite Convention permanent dogonaut-of-honour, and her friends here.

We shall, of course, commemorate her feats at the traditional Dead Laika Party after the close of Satellite 6.

When Worlds Collide

Tomorrow morning our planet-of-honour, Venus, is getting up close and personal to the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter. To see it all happening, you will need to be up early and you will need a clear view of the eastern horizon but, if you can manage all that, it should be quite spectacular. With a small telepscope you might even pick out the four Galilean moons appearing to orbit Venus!

You can find more information on the BBC website or through your favourite search engine on the InterWeb.

There will be extra kudos if you can attend the Novacon 47 Dead Dog Party AND be up in time to see the show.

It's 20:02 so a Happy Autumnal Equinox to all the Satellite family.
